Democracy Day: NSCDC beefs up security in Ondo

THE Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command says it has deployed it personnel across the state for Provision of adequate Security during and after the Democracy Day.
Mr Edenabu Eweka, the State Commandant disclosed this in statement issued by the Command Public Relations Officer, DSC Olufemi Omole on Saturday in Akure.
According to Eweka, the command will not tolerate any act of violence, break down of law and order, disruption of public peace and vandalising of critical national assets and Infrastructure in the state.
“All divisional officers have been given matching order to safeguard all critical national assets and Infrastructure in their terrain.
He said the command’s Quick Response Squad was readily available while officers drawn from the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU), Intelligence and Investigation Department, have been given directives on forestalling acts that are inimical to the peace of the good people of Ondo State
He further said officers drawn from the command’s Agro Rangers Squad, Anti-Human Trafficking, Irregular Migration and Gender Unit were on ground to prevent civil unrest.
The commandant charged the personnel to be very professional in dealing with the civil populace.
He advised parents and guardians to restrict their children from being used as instrument to disrupt peace.
Eweka said any one arrested in connection with violent protests or caught vandalising public or private facilities would face the full wrath of the law.
The commandant, however, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to collaborate with sister agencies in combating all forms of criminality in Ondo State and wished the people a happy Democracy Day.
