Deputy PM Pekanov, ministers discuss funding options for tourism under national recovery plan

ATANAS Pekanov, Deputy Prime Minister for the Management of EU funds of the Republic of Bulgaria, the caretaker minister of Tourism, Ilin Dimitrov, and of Innovation and Growth, Alexander Pulev, held a working meeting on funding options for the country’s tourism sector.

The funding options for the tourism sector under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and EU programmes, the Tourism Ministry said in a statement late Monday.

At the Tourism Minister’s proposal, experts of the Council of Ministers and the responsible ministries would join efforts to prepare information explaining the options.

And also deadlines for funding applications under the NRRP and the EU’s operational programmes.

Each of the ministries would issue a position.

The Tourism Ministry would distribute a brochure with the current information for hotel owners about ongoing programmes open for application.

The participants in the meeting put a special emphasis on the forthcoming application period by this year’s end for the tourism branch under the measures for energy renovation of non-residential buildings.

Allowed to apply are micro/small, medium and large companies with up to 50 per cent intensity of the financial aid provided.

The planned resources are BGN 617.7 million under the Recovery and Resilience Facility alone, exclusive of national and private co-funding. (BTA/NAN)
