Dispatch rider docked for allegedly swindling employer of N102,980

A dispatch rider, Sani Emmanuel on Tuesday appeared before an Upper Area Court, Karu, Abuja for allegedly swindling his employer of N102,980.
The Police charged the defendant with criminal breach of trust, and criminal misappropriation.
The prosecution counsel, Olanrewaju Osho told the court that sometime in August, the defendant was employed as a dispatch rider with Dera Executive services, old CBN Garki, Abuja and entrusted with a Qlink motorcycle with registration number MSC 464 CT for the company’s dispatch services.
The prosecutor said on Oct. 12 the defendant absconded with the proceeds of the dispatch services worth N102, 980.
During police investigation the motorcycle, the police said was recovered from him.
According to Osho the offence contravenes the provisions of sections 312, and 309 of the Penal Code.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Judge, Hassan Mohammed granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 with one surety in like sum.
He further ordered that the surety must have a verified address, and who should reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
The judge adjourned the case until Dec. 13 for further hearing. (NAN)
