Don lauds Unizik v-c’s giant strides in four years

UCHE Obidiegwu, director of Sandwich Unit, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Campus, has said that the current tenure of Joseph Ahaneku, the incumbent vice-chancellor, had brought remarkable changes to the institution.

Obidiegwu who spoke on achievements of the V-C in four years, stressed that through his instrumentality, the inaugural lecture series of the university had been increased from one or two in a year to about seven to eight lecture series annually.

The director noted that through the V-C, the entrance into the university leading to the administrative block received new look with landscaping of the car parks and other beautification.

Other areas touched by the vice-chancellor include the beautification of the Faculty of Education premises and improvements in the facilities in the Sandwich unit.

Christian Enete, the sub-dean Faculty of Environmental Sciences of the University, said the tenure of Ahaneku witnessed massive promotion of staff of the institution.

Other achievements of the V-C include payment of arrears of promotions owed to staff, and approval of training programmes for them.

Enete expressed gratitude to the vice chancellor for bringing dynamism in their `Ivory Tower’ and said he was expecting his successor by next year to improve on his track records.
