DSS Stopped Me from Greeting Buhari – Murray-Bruce
BREAKING NEWS, Politics
–
SENATOR Ben Murray-Bruce has accused operatives of the Department of State Services of preventing him from getting close to President Muhammadu Buhari during a dinner at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
A Peoples Democratic Party Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Murray-Bruce has openly criticised several decisions by the Buhari-led All Progressives Congress government. The Senator has been criticised for taking to the social media to criticise the government rather than opting for diplomatic channels.
However, when he approached the President at the dinner, he met a brick wall in the DSS. “I was at the Presidential villa today. Went to the President’s table DSS wouldn’t allow me greet him but let another Senator greet him!

Two hours earlier, Murray-Bruce had twitted pictures from the event with no indication of the friction that was ahead. At a dinner with President Buhari at the Presidential villa. pic.twitter.com/f7tMwtnWBY

Mocked by a Twitter user for trying to reach Buhari after the criticisms, Murray-Bruce said last night’s development showed that the President was in danger of being shielded from reality. Kadir, if PMB’s handlers selectively block access to him, he runs the risk of being surrounded only by sycophants! pic.twitter.com/5MDW5rZwYx

A few hours before the dinner, the Senator has criticised the President for retaining a large presidential fleet. Its ‘fantastically corrupt’ that Nigeria maintains a 10 plane Presidential fleet whereas the PM of a rich nation like UK flies commercial!
