THE Enugu Chamber of Commerce Industry Mining and Agriculture (ECCIMA) has lauded Gov. Peter Mbah over his commitment and speed in providing needed infrastructure development in Enugu State.

The President of ECCIMA, Chief Odeiga Jideonwo, gave the commendation while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday on final preparations for the forthcoming 35th International Enugu Trade Fair.

The fair, which would hold between April 5 and 15, is themed: “Promoting Made in Nigeria products for global Competitiveness.”

Jideonwo said that the chamber was grateful and indebted to Gov. Mbah for his commitment and speed in completing the reconstruction of the two-kilometre internal road of the fairground to world standard.

“As you can see our action governor is at work here. Just few weeks ago, we met him with some requests, which included helping us to reconstruct our two-kilometre internal road at the fair ground.

“And true to his words, the road is completely done. The governor has done the two kilometres and even beyond it,” he said.

The chamber boss also applauded Gov. Mbah for the ongoing reconstruction of all major roads leading to the trade fair ground, adding that these moves were a testament of a forward looking and progressive government.

“I will tell you that Gov. Peter Mbah is very supportive of the private sector, especially the chamber.

“His administration is keen in providing necessary infrastructure for the private sector to strive and contribute meaningfully to the state and national economy.

“This is a great partnership and assistance from the state government, which we as a chamber are not taking for granted,” he said.

On other preparation on ground, Jideonwo said that the fairground had been turned to a huge construction site with exhibitors working with artisans to set up their stands as well as other special positions and displays.

“The exhibitors, which have grown in number beyond what we had in recent past, are working hard for some days now to meet-up with the commencement of the fair proper.

“Few exhibitors are having logistic challenges but they are gradually overcoming them ahead of Friday, the commencement day,” he said. (NAN)
