A group of approximately 10 final-year students majoring in International Relations from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, visited the ECOWAS Commission Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, February 22, 2023.
This visit was part of their academic work programme for the year 2024.
The purpose of the one-day excursion was to enrich the students’ understanding of ECOWAS and its institutions and programmes. Throughout the day, they received presentations from various directorates, including Human Resources, Trade, External Relations, Political Affairs, Defense, and Security.
These presentations provided an overview of the different activities and programmes, highlighting the impact ECOWAS has on the citizens of the region.
The students concluded their visit with a comprehensive tour of the ECOWAS Commission building, gaining firsthand insights into the operational aspects of the organization.
