THIS year’s annual conference of the Nigerian Guild of Editors is scheduled to hold from August 27 to 31 in Katsina in Katsina State. The conference, which has as its theme “Credible Elections and the Nigerian Editor” will be hosted by the Katsina State government.

According to the guild, about 300 editors in electronic, print and online media are expected to attend the conference where new members and new fellows will be inducted while some international and national speakers have been lined up for the conference. State governors and other top government officials are also expected to grace the executive session.

Femi Adesina, president of the Guild, has charged the planning committee, headed by Garbadeen Mohammed, to ensure a hitch-free conference that would impact on professionalism and nation building. On his part, Mohammed promised a robust outing for the NGE, and disclosed that other details of the conference would be unveiled soon.
