Edo gets new Commissioner of Police

A new Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr Nemi Edwin-Iwo, has assumed duty in Edo, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

According to a statement issued in Benin on Tuesday by the spokesperson of the Police Command in Edo, SP Moses Yamu, the new CP replaced Funsho Adegboye.

The statement described Edwin-Iwo, the 47th CP in the state, as a hardworking, versatile and dedicated law enforcement officer.

Until his deployment to Edo, he was the CP in charge of Intelligence at the Force Intelligence Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

According to the statement, the police chief hailed from Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Port-Harcourt, and a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Ibadan.

He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. (NAN)
