Education commissioner suspends free education erring principal

THE Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh says dismissal awaits any school principal who sabotages Anambra State Government’s Free Education policy.

Announcing the suspension of the Principal of Metu Memorial Secondary School Onitsha, Dr. Fidelia Ogili, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh stated that  the principal was asked to step down for going against the Free Education pronouncements of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo.

Ogili was reported to have asked parents to pay N1,700 each for payment of PTA teachers while students whose parents were absent from PTA meeting and orientation programme were asked to pay N1,000 respectively. 

Ogili was further reported to have demanded N2,500 from each of the students as their first term examination levy.
