NATIONAL Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) has commended the Commissioner for Women Affairs and her Agriculture counterpart, Mrs Funmi Efuwape and Dr Adeola Odedina respectively for their contributions to the state’s rapid development.
The National President of the association, Mr Gbemileke Ogunrombi, gave the commendation in Abeokuta on Thursday.
Ogunrombi explained that, though, more was still expected, it was important to commend and appreciate good job which would spur others to put in more efforts.
He said that Odedina had been at the forefront of the economic survival of the state through the Agric Ministry’s various projects while Efuwape had been at the forefront of empowering women to cushion the effect of the lockdown on them.
He noted that the efforts of Efuwape in the distribution of palliatives to the less privileged, especially widows, single mothers and the aged were commendable.
Ogunrombi said that the commissioners had shown exemplary character with their commitment in improving the living standard of the people of the state.
He added that the commissioner for agriculture had been sustaining the economic development of the state through his ministry’s various farm projects.
According to him, Odedina has brought to the fore, his vast experience in the agricultural sector and applied this knowledge to develop the state agriculture sector.
“Odedina has galvanised the agric sector in the state through Public Private Partnership. He has revived the almost dead sector and made agriculture more attractive for the unemployed youth.
“Notable among the achievements of the ministry is the facilitation of the CBN’s Anchor Borrowers’ Programme. The 108,000 broiler project which saw over 9,000 youths’ enrolment, the Eggua rice project and the Tilapia fish project,” Ogunrombi said in a statement.
He explained that the exemplary character exhibited by the commissioners was not only commendable but also worthy of emulation by others. (NAN)
