MR Henry Olugbemi, a Coordinator, Adedokun International Schools, Dalemo, Ota, has called on the state government to grant scholarships to students who excel in national competitions in the state.

Olugbemi made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Ota, Ogun.

According to him, giving scholarships and prizes to students who are doing well in their academics will help to motivate students, therefore, improving the standard of education.

“The state government can encourage students or learners who are excelling or doing well in their studies by giving such children scholarships, rewards or prizes to encourage others,” he said.

The educationist also appealed to the government to address decayed infrastructure in some of the public schools in the state.

This, he said, would help the students to compete favorably with other students across the country and internationally.

Olugbemi enjoined parents around Ota and its environs to register their wards in good schools such as Adedokun international, saying that the school would harness both their academic and sport’s potential. (NAN)
