Eid-el-Fitr: Be wary of sharing gifts with unknown persons–Police boss

THE Kaduna State Police Commissioner, Mr Austin Iwar, on Thursday advised residents of the state to be wary of sharing gifts with unknown persons as they celebrate the  Eid-el-Fitr.

The spokesman of the police in the state,  ASP Aliyu Muhktar, in a statement on Thursday in Kaduna  quoted Iwar as  urging  residents  to exercise caution and restraint in celebrating the festival.

He also advised residents to  be cautious in  receiving unfamiliar persons who might come around in disguise in the name of felicitation of the season.

“Parents must be extra vigilant and should pay extra attention to their wards as they go about during in the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
.
“Be vigilant of your surrounding when making withdrawals from ATMs; do not hesitate to report to the police or nearest security agency where you notice any suspicious person or activities,’’ he said.

While appealing to Kaduna residents to be law abiding during and after the celebration, Iwar  gave an assurance   that the command in synergy with all security agencies  would ensure safety of residents.
