THE Jigawa Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it has deployed no fewer than 375 personnel to minimise incidents of auto-crash during the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebrations in the state.

Mr Ado Adamu, the FRSC Spokesman in the state, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Monday.

Adamu said the deployment was made up of 300 marshals, 50 officers and 25 special marshals.

“The Jigawa Command of the FRSC is fully prepared for the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

“To achieve that, 300 marshals, 50 officers and 25 special marshals are deployed across the state in order to ensure crash-free Sallah celebrations,” Adamu said.

He explained that three ambulances and eight patrol vehicles were also mobilised in case of Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) and other emergencies during the festive period.

The spokesman added that the personnel would be stationed at strategic locations to control traffic on major roads across the state.

According to him, the personnel were also expected to partner with other security agencies in the state in providing maximum security throughout the period.

“The corps would also ensure free flow of traffic along prayer grounds.

“They would also ensure timely removal of all road obstructions, prompt rescue and recovery, effective traffic management to curtail disorderliness, as well as strict enforcement of road traffic law and regulations.

“Apart from traffic control along major gridlock routes leading to prayer grounds, the personnel would also focus on overloading, dangerous driving, use of phone while driving, lane discipline and other traffic violations,” Adamu added.

He, therefore, urged residents to cooperate with all security personnel in the state for safe, crash-free and successful Sallah celebration.
