Eid-el-Fitri: ADP hails Muslims, calls for peace, alms giving

ACTION Democratic Party (ADP) has congratulated Nigerian Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of Ramadan fast and celebrating Eid-el-Fitr.
Mr. Yabaji Sani, the ADP National Chairman, said this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
Sani also called on Muslims and other Nigerians to pray for peace and unity of the country and urged Muslims to always give alms to the underprivileged in the society.
“This celebration marks the end of the Ramadan fast accompanied by intense acts of worship and prayers to the Almighty Creator which is also a fulfillment of one of the enjoined five pillars of the Islamic faith.
“The ADP wishes to specially commend our Muslim compatriots for their demonstrated faith during the Ramadan in spite of unprecedented and excruciating economic hardship compounded by a frightening reign of insecurity.
“The ADP family, in the spirit of this holy season, prays that Allah SWT, the Omnipotent, the Omniscient, and the Merciful, accepts and grants the prayers and supplications by our Muslim faithful for themselves and for the entire nation,” he said.
Sani prayed that the Highest grants the fervent prayers offered during the Ramadan fast against poverty, insecurity, and all other forms of pestilence.
He also beseeched Allah to touch the hearts of the nation’s leaders and direct them toward the path of selflessness, fairness, equity, and fear of the Day of Judgment in the hereafter.
Sani urged the nation’s leaders across boards to rise to the nation’s cry of hunger, unemployment, poverty, and the most alarming matters of insecurity.
“This is due to the ticking time bomb consequent on the very deteriorating economic downturn, social dislocations and massive unemployment among the teeming youth leading to widespread restiveness,” he said.
He urged Muslims, who happily understood the real meaning and essence of Islam as a religion of peace, to keep radiating the positive message and colors of their faith by exhibiting peace throughout the coming days of the year. (NAN)
