THE Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps(TRACE) has assured motoring public of effective traffic management in the state during and after the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Mr. Seni Ogunyemi, the Corps Commander, gave the assurance in a statement by Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, TRACE Public Relations Officer (PRO), on Monday in Ota, Ogun.

Ogunyemi said that the corps would also ensure strict compliance with the COVID-19 protocols by motorists during and after the celebration.

According to him, the strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols and guidelines are necessary toward reducing the spread of the pandemic in the state.

Ogunyemi said that the exercise would involve the full strength of the Corps operational machinery geared towards promoting the safety of road users.

He noted that officials of the Corps would be deployed to strategic beats, flashpoints, diversions and construction zones across the state.

The TRACE boss added that the steps were to check the excesses of recalcitrant motorists and their overbearing attitude.

“TRACE Corps in collaboration with other sister agencies would enforce the COVID-19 guidelines, more so that a high volume of human and vehicular movement is envisaged, with its attendant traffic build-up, breakdown of ill-maintained vehicles, obstruction and road crashes,” he said.

He, however, said that for feedback calls, in case of the emergency situation, the motoring public should call hotlines: 0703 411 0281 (Text only), 0810 179 2333, and 0803 491 9165. (NAN)
