THE Kogi State Governor,  Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on Muslims in the state to rededicate themselves towards building a Kogi State where equity, fairness and constitutionalism are upheld, and where every citizen, regardless of age, creed or tribe is empowered and given a sense of inclusion.

The governor, who made the call in a goodwill message to all Muslims as they mark this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid, also called for special prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to him, President Tinubu needs all the prayers and support to achieve the laudable dreams encapsulated in his Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said: “On Eid-Ul-Mawlid we celebrate the birth of a man whose exemplary life and faith have led billions to piety over many centuries and whose teachings continue to inspire the world to place great value on peace, compassion and justice, creating a well of humanity.

“I also seek your prayers as the Chief Servant of our dear state in order to continue to serve you selflessly with great dedication to your welfare, well-being and prosperity. We also need to pray for Nigerian leaders at all levels – that the Almighty God will grant us a heart of service and the fuel of selflessness needed to build a prosperous nation.

“On this great occasion, May Allah, SWT, bless Nigeria with security, unity, prosperity, equity and a banner without stain.

“In Kogi State, we are proud of our rich diversity of tribes, religions, gender, age and physical abilities and we are determined to make this great endowment a source of strength – not division, discrimination or marginalization. Our administration is building a state where everyone is empowered mentally to appreciate the place of unity and the strength inherent in the defense and empowerment of the weak.”

Realnews reports that the Eid-ul-Mawlid is a day in the global calendar when Muslims celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
