ABOUT eight districts in Jema’a Local Government, Kaduna State have signed an agreement to maintain peace in their areas.  The agreement was brokered by Global Peace Foundation, GPF, Nigeria, a non governmental organisation, NGO, following months of negotiation after the bloodbath in the area between farmers and herdsmen

The districts which include Dangoma, Goska, Ambam, Bakin Kogi, Unguwar Fari, Unguwar Baki and Gerti unanimously agreed to forgive each other and directed all farmers and herdsmen to go about their normal activities.

John Oko, country director, GPF, said  “GPF is happy with this outcome. We shall continue to monitor the progress and work with the communities to ensure sustainable peace returns. We believe that both parties are tired of the hostilities.”
