NASIR el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna State is still up in arms with the leaders of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC. On Tuesday, May 18, el-Rufai declared Ayuba Wabba, national president of the NLC, and other members of the union wanted for economic sabotage and attacks on public infrastructure under Miscellaneous Offences Act.

The governor tweeted that: “Ayuba Wabba & others of @NLCHeadquarters declared wanted for economic sabotage & attacks on public infrastructure under Miscellaneous Offences Act.

“Anyone that knows where he is hiding should send a message to @MOJKaduna. KDSG. There will be a handsome reward!”

In another tweet, El-Rufai said: “…The reform of the size, cost & quality of over bloated, inefficient & barely educated public service is at stake here. We will neither retreat nor concede to any thoughtless & corrupt political hacks ever!”

it is recalled that the El-Rufai administration had stated that the five-day warning strike by the NLC, which began on Monday, will not distract it from its plan to ‘rightsize’ the civil service after he sacked more than 1000 workers.

But NLC had claimed the sacked worker were more than 7000.

Wabba, who addressed civil servants in the state on Monday, said the union will cripple  the El-Rufai’s government until the sacked workers are recalled.
