A brand new fire fighting truck has been donated by the  Kaduna State government under the leadership of the Nasir El-Rufai, governor of Kaduna state,  to the Kaduna State Sector Command of FRSC .

The truck was handed over today Wednesday March 7, by the  permanent secretary, Local Government Ministry of Kaduna State and received on behalf of the Command by the Sector Head of Operations,  Deputy Corps Commander Salisu Galandashi.

El-Rufai promised donating the truck at a  State security meeting after he received  the report of a Road Traffic Crash along Abuja road  that claimed 17 lives on the spot after the vehicle caught  fire when a trailer collided with a Hummer passenger  bus on 10/02/18.

Umar Ibrahim, sector  commander, Corps Commander, during the Security Council meeting narrated to the governor how his  operatives became helpless to quench the fire after rescuing the people out of the  crash  vehicles. He told the meeting how in the  middle of the night,  FRSC rescue teams stood and watched victims suffering in pain when fire was burning them.

The governor became sympathetic of the  situation and immediately ordered for the vehicle to be handed over to FRSC for usage along Kaduna – Abuja Highway in case situations like that  repeat itself.

Boboye Oyeyemi, corps marshal, FRSC, has expressed appreciation to the governor for his interest in road safety and enjoins others to show interest by contributing towards saving lives on Nigerian roads.
