Election: Bauchi Govt. closes public schools for 2 days

BAUCHI State Government has declared a two-day break for the state-owned schools ahead of the governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections on Saturday.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the Information Officer of the Ministry, Mr Jalal Maina on Wednesday.
The state Commissioner for Education, Hajiya Jamila Dahiru, who said this in the statement, added that the break was due to the adjustment in the date of polls
“Day schools are to be closed on Friday 17th and Monday 20th March, and school activities are to resume on Tuesday 21 March, 2023.
“All boarding school students are to remain in their respective schools during the break.”
He added that the Commissioner wished all students and teachers hitch free elections, reiterating that the state government was committed to their welfare and would continue to provide qualitative education for the betterment of the State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ministry had on Feb. 23, declared a two-day break for the Governorship and House of Assembly elections which were earlier slated for March 11.
It said that day students were to remain at home on Friday and Monday before the elections were shifted to March 18. (NAN)
