Election: Enugu Govt. announces Mid-term break for schools
Education
THE Enugu State Government has announced mid-term break for all primary and secondary schools in the state, effective from Feb. 23 until Feb. 27.
This is contained in a statement by Mr P. A. Ochi, Director, Schools Department in the Ministry for Education on Tuesday in Enugu.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the break may be connected to the safety of the school children during the forthcoming general elections.
NAN recalled that the National Universities Commission (NUC), had on Feb. 9, directed the closure of all universities and inter-university centres between Feb. 22 and March 14.
The decision followed concerns about the security of staff, students and the university property during the general elections. (NAN)
