Election Petitions Tribunal gets 33 petitions in Sokoto

THE Governorship, National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal in Sokoto State has so far received 33 petitions on the just concluded 2019 elections in the state.

The Secretary of the Tribunal, Mrs Okedara Adejoke, said this in interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Sokoto.

Adejoke said that 20 of the petitions were for State House of Assembly, 10 for the House of Representatives, while three were for the Senate.

NAN reports that the tribunal commenced sitting on Wednesday and had Justice Yusuf Ubale as Chairman, while Justice I. Wodi and Hamman Idi were members.

At the sitting, Ubale said the tribunal had six months duration to hear the petitions and urged counsels and litigants to abide by the stipulated rules. (NAN)
