THE Bauchi Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), says it is ready to ensure seamless transportation of election materials and officials during Saturday’s gubernatorial and Assembly election.

Yusuf Abdullahi, the Sector Commander, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Wednesday.

According to him, all the vehicles to be used to convey both the election materials and personnel have been certified by the command.

This, he said, was to ensure that no obstacle was encountered while moving the election items and personnel to their various locations within the state.

Abdullahi said the the corps was working with other security agencies to ensure hitch-free election across the state.

According to him, the security agencies will on Thursday conduct public sensitisation and assure residents of their security, so that the people will come out enmass to exercise their franchise.

“We will tell them that everywhere is peaceful and they are safe to come out and cast their votes.

“We are going to demonstrate to the people that we have provided a peaceful environment.

“That is our intention and all hands are on the deck as meetings have been held with security chiefs in the state to ensure that the exercise is hitch-free, smooth and peaceful,” he said.(NAN)
