Christopher Maikalangu, Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has appreciated women in the area council for the role they played during the elections that brought him into office last year.

Maikalangu said this during a town hall meeting with women from the 12 wards on Tuesday, in the area council, in Abuja.

“For giving me this wonderful privilege to serve my people, I want to sincerely thank you for your prayers during and after the elections.

“I will like to seek another request from you but before then, I want to assure you that even with the challenges we are facing, whatever it is meant for you, we will give it to you.

“I am assuring you that this year, we will design so many programmes that will benefit and empower our women.

“As the elections are fast approaching, I know what you women can do; please I want you to vote for all our PDP candidates.

“From the house of representatives, to the Senate and to the president, please come out en mass and vote for the PDP candidates,” he said.

Maikalangu also called on residents of the area council to ensure they conducted themselves peacefully during and after the elections.

“They should come out and vote peacefully, we do not embrace violence in the FCT.

“I also want to call on the residents to come out and collect their permanent voter cards and ensure they vote during the elections,” he added. (NAN)
