Elephant Club of Ogba Ashade football competition begins Oct 23

THE organisers of Elephant Club of Ogba Ashade in Agege area of Lagos say the 5-Aside football competition to mark the club’s the 25th anniversary will begin on Oct. 23
Mr Felix Ajanaku, the Chairman of the football committee, said this during the groupings of the football teams on Tuesday in Agege, Lagos.
According to Ajanaku, a total of N1.5 million has been voted for various categories of winners.
“The winner of the football competition will receive N500,000, while the runner up will get N250,000 and other prices.
“The most valuable player will be rewarded and the best team will also be compensated.
“Besides, there is reward for the best supporters’ club to encourage the community youths to leave in peace, unity and shun social vices,” he said.
According to Ajanaku, all the teams are advised to appeal to their respective supporters during the matches to ensure peace and tranquility.
Ajanaku also tasked every team to abide by the rules and regulations.
He called on government at all levels and corporate organisations to help in the sponsorship of the tourney,” he said.
Mr Yomi Olabiyi, an Official Referee in Lagos State, who witnessed the draw, said the teams and officials had been tutored on the rules and regulations for a 5-Aside football match.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the opening match will be between Bit Express FC and Skinrara FC at the Ogba Ashade Palace ground.
Aside Bit Express FC and Skinrara FC, the other football teams in Group A are: Mago FC and Toma FC.
Group B include, Arya Atibaje FC, Omo Better FC, Unique FC and Kukushaw FC.
Group C include, Oloke FC, Ogba Ijaiye United, Hassembly FC and Oju Oja FC. (NAN)
