Emergency responders recover plane stuck in mud at Lagos Airport

THE Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other emergency responders have safely recovered an Airplane 5N -BZZ from its stuck position in the mud onto the emergency runway by the Agency’s Super-Metro.

The Permanent Secretary, LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, stated this on Sunday in Lagos.

The statement said that the plane was towed away by a private Crane with joint efforts of all relevant Agencies that reconverged on Sunday morning.

The Agency recalled that it received a distress call via its emergency toll-free numbers, 112/767 regarding an airplane 5N -BZZ which skidded off the runway while landing and got stuck in the mud on Saturday May 11, 2024 at the Local Airport, IKEJA, at about 3:03pm.

‘’This prompted the immediate deployment of the Agency’s response team to the scene of the incident.

Fortunately, no casualties were recorded from the incident.
