General News
ALHAJI Muhammadu Iliyasu-Bashar, Emir of Gwandu, in Kebbi State on Saturday applauded the contributions of World Health Organisation (WHO) and other health organisations in improving healthcare delivery in the society.
He stated this when he received the new Zonal Coordinator of WHO in-charge of North-West, Dr Haruna Isma’il-Adamu, on a courtesy visit at Abdullahi Fodio Palace in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Muhammadu Iliyasu-Bashar is the Chairman, Kebbi State Council of Chiefs.
The Emir said health agencies were contributing greatly in improving the lives of the populace, hence the need to take advantage of their counselling and various initiatives for a better society.
Commenting on the forthcoming general elections, the emir urged the general public to shun political thuggery and inciting words capable of heating the polity and creating tension within the society.
Earlier, the new coordinator said they were at the palace to seek royal blessing and advice from the emir.
Ismai’l-Adamu assured the emir of the organisation’s readiness to extend helping hands towards improving health services across the country.
This, according to him, is part of the responsibilities of donor agencies. (NAN)
