Emir of Ilorin greets Prof. Gambari at 80

THE Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has rejoiced with Professor Ibrahim Gambari, the former Chief of Staff to the immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari, on his attainment of 80 years on earth on Sunday 24, November 2024.
This is contained in a goodwill message issued by the Emir’s spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari who described Prof. Gambari as a seasoned administrator and diplomat par excellence specifically welcomes the celebrant to the world of Octogenerians stressing that “old age is a special gift from Almighty Allah.”
The Emir further said, “Your sojourn as a diplomat which you described as ‘accidental’ was part of Allah’s favour to Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State and Nigeria at large for making one of us an asset to Africa continent and global community. It is therefore not ‘accidental’ but ‘Allah’s Providence’ on you.
“Your roles in promoting global peace and diplomacy was exceptional and your last appointment as the Chief of Staff to former President Muhammadu Buhari was another milestone in the history and profiling of Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State in general.
“We are proud of you and grateful to Almighty Allah for the opportunity given to you to serve Africa and Nigeria in particular with respect and abiding loyalty.”
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari therefore prays Allah to grant Professor Gambari more years of outstanding accomplishments on earth with sound health and comforts.
