The Emir of Zazzau in Kaduna State, Amb. Ahmed Bamalli, has reiterated commitment to strengthen centuaries-long relationship between Zazzau and Kano Emirate Council.

Bamalli stated this when he paid homage to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Bayero, on Wednesday in Kano.

He said the visit was to further cement mutual relationship which has been in existence since the time of Sheikh Usman Fodio.

The monarch noted that Zazzau and Kano Emirates coexisted for a long period of time like one family, and expressed the hope that the tempo would be sustain.

“It has become necessary for us to visit such emirate and other well known emirates to strengthen the relationship between the councils.

“We are aware of the long existing good relationship between the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero and the late Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris.

“Whatever concerns Kano, we are also concerned about it, not only because we are neighbours, but because we are one family.

“I wish to inform you that all the royal houses in Zazzau Emirate are one family, in this entourage, there are representations from each of the houses.

“This indicated that 95 per cent of the Title Holders and District Heads are willing to work towards the development of the Zazzau Emirate,” Bamalli said.

Also speaking, Bayero congratulated Bamalli over his appointment as the 19th Emir of Zazzau, describing it as a good development.

Bayero prayed God to protect and guide the new emir to enable him to discharge his responsibilities effectively.

He admonished members of the council, District Heads and title holders to support the new emir to enable him to succeed.

“The new emir needs your support, not only for his position, but to protect the good image of the Zazzau Emirate.

“Whatever happened, be it good or bad, which we are not praying for the bad to happen, it will affect the entire emirate.” he said.

Bayero further assured of his council support to the Zazzau Emirate Council.

Bamalli was appointed the 19th Emir of Zazzau on Oct. 7, sequel to the demise of the Alhaji Shehu Idris, who died on Sept. 20, after 45-year reign. (NAN)
