ADMINISTRATORS of the estate of the late elder statesman, Chief Anthony Enahoro, on Wednesday, acknowledged the inclusion of their patriarch in the 2022 National Honours Awards’ list.

The acknowledgement is contained in a statement issued by head of the family, Chief Eugene Enahoro, and his brother, Mr Victor Enahoro, a copy, which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin.

The children said they recognised the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) award bestowed on their father by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This, they said, was in addition to the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) bestowed on the late nationalist in 1982.

The children noted out that the Federal Government was aware of a great dishonour done to their father, which, they said, still needed to be rectified by government.

The family, however, said that the details needed to be made public.

They advised Nigerian youths to emulate the late nationalist’s patriotism and remain in the country to contribute their own quota to its development.

Enahoro’s children urged the youth not to flee the country only for them to become refugees and second class citizens in foreign lands. (NAN)
