AFTER weeks of mobilization by the organisers of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria and the efforts of the federal government to persuade the youths to abort the 10-day planned protests, the protesters on Thursday came out in their numbers in Lagos, Abuja and some state capitals with their placards articulating their demands from the federal government.
Some of the protesters complained about the worsening hardship, especially high food prices caused by the anti-people policies of the federal government like the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira.
In Lagos, the large crowd of protesters gathered at Ikeja and marched to the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park at Ojota and the Peace Park in Ketu to continue their protests.
According to reports from Abuja, the protest has been peaceful except for the shooting of teargas on the protesters at the Eagles Square and one case of injured by protester.
In Kaduna, the peaceful protest in Kaduna turned violent. According to the report by Arise Television, the protest turned violent and the police claimed that the protest had been infiltrated by some people with criminal intensions and that a policeman has just been injured.
In Enugu, the residents stayed in their homes as if they are observing the sit at home order in the state.
In Port Harcourt, the protest has been peaceful and the state governor, who addressed the protesters, commended them for their peaceful conduct.
