SEN. Philip Aduda, (PDP-FCT), on Thursday in Abuja declared support for peaceful protest by the #EndSARS protesters in line with the provision of the law in the territory.

Aduda made  this known in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) after an Emergency Security Meeting presided over by the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello.

“I support the #EndSARS protest due to the high-handedness of some of the  defunct  Special Anti- Robbery Squad(SARS). I do not support the violence resulting from the protests by the youths.

“The protesters should ensure that they abide by the law so that the demands they have put forward could be adequately addressed.

“Everybody has the right to protest.  I want to specifically place  it on record that I supported the #EndSARS movement but not violence..

“Youths are the future of every country so we should be able to listen to them and try as much as we can to meet their demands.

“I was one of those who appeared on the floor of the Senate on three occasions to talk about the high-handedness of the operatives of SARS.

Aduda decried accusation by some individuals linking him to violence protest.
