THE Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), has called on government at all levels and relevant stakeholders to support the ongoing Writer’s  Village building project in Mpape, Abuja.

The President of ANA, Denja Abdullahi, made the call in an interview with the News Agency (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja.

According to him, the project has attained 40 per cent completion.

Abdullahi said that the land was donated to the association by the government in 1985, adding that he was working round the clock to ensure the project was completed during his tenure.

He said that the project known as “Mammam Basa Writers Village’’, comprises an Ultra Modem Conference Centre, Office Space for the association, Shopping Malls and Apartments that people could rent and relax when they want to write.

“We want to invite the press and other stakeholders in the association to come and see what we have done so far with the project so they can key into the project.

“Because we hope to complete the project by May 2019, that is when we do a formal commissioning of the complex.

“The idea is that Mammam Basa Writers Village contains an Ultra-Modern conference centre, office space for the association, shopping malls and apartments.

“This is so that people can rent and relax when they want to write or feel inspired to write that’s the idea of the project,’’ he said. (NAN)
