Entry for NCC 2021 national essay for undergraduates begins

ENTRY for third edition of the Nigerian Communications Commission’s, NCC, national essay competition for undergraduates in Nigeria for 2021 has started.

The deadline for submission of entries is Friday, July 30. The winners will be announced Monday, September 13. Entries should be sent to aogbadu@ncc.gov.ng.

This was announced in a public notice signed by Ikechukwu Adinde, director,  Public Affairs, NCC inviting entries for its 2021 National Essay Competition for undergraduates.

Realnews reports that the competition is designed to inspire innovative essay writing skills in tertiary students across the country on the topic:  “5G Technology: Opportunities and Challenges.”

The aim is to increase awareness on 5G Technology, engage and enhance research, encourage academic competition and excellence, while building capacity of undergraduates in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

All undergraduates in both public and private tertiary institution in Nigeria are qualified to send entries.

According to the public notice, “All participants are expected to register their personal details in the form provided for download on the NCC website, signed by their Deans as genuine Nigerian Undergraduates.

“All essays will be subjected to plagiarism checks,” while winners will be invited by the Committee members to defend their essays by way of presentation.

“Candidates who cannot successfully defend their submissions will be disqualified.”

All entries will be assess based on the fact that the essay should contain a maximum of 1,000 words and a minimum of 500 words on the topic; have an abstract, introduction, main body, conclusion and referenced.

The entries, which will be subjected to a rigorous selection process and scrutiny based on content, grammar and structure, must get to the NCC in  PDF format with all necessary attachments.

Realnews reports that the winner of the essay competition will get a laptop, printer and cash prize of N500,000; the second prize will get N300,000 while  third prize gets N200,000.
