Enugu Football League: Star Plus thrash Golden Shooters 4-0

STARS Plus FC of Ngwo on Thursday thrashed Golden Shooters FC of Oji Rivers 4-0 in the ongoing Enugu State Football League.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the match was played inside the Rangers International FC training pitch, Liberty Estate Enugu.

In the first match of the day, Chukwujekwu Okpali put Stars Plus ahead on the 35th minute to ensure his team went into the break with a 1-0 lead.

Chinedu Ugwu opened the floodgate of goals for the Ngwo team when he made it 2-0 on the 59th minute from the spot kick.

Chidiebere Oti increased the tally to 3-0 on the 61st minute before Uche Kalu scored the fourth goal on the 74th minute to secure his team’s chances to the knockout stage.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the win put Stars Plus ahead of FC Inter also of Ngwo, who defeated Star Plus 3-1 on April 11.

With the victory, Stars Plus now have two goals advantage over FC Inter after two matches in group D of the league as the two teams are on three points.

FC Inter of Ngwo would face Golden Shooters in their third match of the league on April 19 to determine the group leader.

Meanwhile, the match between Rangers Feeders and Purple Krown ended 0-0 and that lifted Purple Krown to top of group B with seven points after three matches.

Rangers Feeders had four points after two matches and have Great Achievers FC of Emene to takle on April 18 in their third match of the group. (NAN)
