ENUGU State Government has declared Saturday, June 26 for a statewide environmental sanitation.

The Managing Director of the Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA), Mrs Amaka Anajemba, announced this on Wednesday in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu.

Anajemba stated that the exercise holds from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., adding that there would be restriction in human and vehicular movement during the period.
She further stated that environmental mobile courts had been constituted to prosecute alleged offenders.

“All the motor park operators in the state are warned not to load goods, passengers or transact any business within the period.

“People who are fond of using the hours of the sanitation to play football on the streets are warned because the law will take its course on them accordingly,’’ she added.

Anajemba also urged residents to always pay their sanitation rates, adding that defaulters would attract the wrath of the law.

“Do not pay cash as sanitation rate to anyone but Enugu state government/ESWAMA direct account,’’ she added. (NAN)
