THE Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Chief Edward Ubosi, has called on residents of the state to be security conscious.

Ubosi made the call during the house plenary session on Tuesday.

He further said that people should shun acts capable of escalating security situation in the state.

He advised the youths not to allow themselves to be used to cause mayhem in the state, known for peace.

He said that the call became necessary, following some security breaches being experienced in different parts of the state.

He charged his colleagues to sensitise and caution their constituents, especially the youths, to stop engaging in the destruction of lives and property.

The speaker spoke against the backdrop of Sunday’s attack on Inyi Police Station in Oji River Local Government Area (LGA) by gunmen.

The assailants burnt down the station and also killed an APC Youth Leader in Igbo-Eze North LGA. (NAN)
