Epe LG unveils plans for World Tourism Day

EPE Local Government in Lagos State says it has concluded plans to join the rest of the world to celebrate World Tourism Day on Sept. 27.

Ms Surah Animashaun, Chairperson of the council , said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), in Epe, on Tuesday.

Animashaun said the council would use the celebration to showcase the tourism assets of the area to the rest of the world.

According to her ,some of the activities planned for the day include cultural dance, exhibitions of community cultures, display of locally made fabrics and souvenirs.

She gave the others as visits to tourism sites,fishing festival,tourism conference and games.

Animashaun said the community would witness the influx of both local and international tourists ahead and during the event.

She added that the one-day event would boost the commercial activities in the ancient community and also boost hospitality industry patronages.

The chairperson pledged to develop the tourism assets of EPe and promote the area to attract local and foreign tourists.

She said that there was an ongoing development between the council, state government and private investors to explore and harness ,the tourism potential in Epe Division.

Animashaun expressed the optimism that the community would, in no time, become the preferred destination for domestic and foreign tourists (NAN)
