Etim assumes duty as 43rd Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Infantry

MAJ.-Gen. Frank Etim on Tuesday assumed command as the 43 Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry(NASI), Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that Etim was the erstwhile Director Lesson Learnt, Nigerian Army Headquarters, Department of Army Transformation and Innovation (DATI).
He took over from Maj.-Gen. Oluyemi Olatoye, who is proceeding as the General Officer Commanding 82 Division and Force Commander, Joint Task Force, South East, Operation Udo ka.
In a remark during the ceremony, Olatoye thanked God, Almighty for his successful tenure as the 42 Commandant of the premier Nigerian Army institution responsible for the training of officers and soldiers with primary focus on Infantry personnel.
Olatoye appreciated the Deputy Commandant, Brig.-Gen. Abubakar Bello, Chief Instructors, Heads of Departments, other staff, Instructors and the entire NASI community for their various forms of support while he was the commandant.
He urged the officers and soldiers that the same cooperation be extended to his successor, whom he described as “a trainer, highly decorated senior officer
He described him as the right man to take over the mantle of leadership in NASI having worked together in different capacities in the Nigerian Army.
Etim described his appointment as a privilege to take over from the outgoing commandant whom he described as a successful military officer.
He added that it would be difficult to fill the shoes of his predecessor, but he has been prepared to handle the responsibility.
This is through the outgoing commandant’s mentorship, while stating that his primary responsibility would be towards effective training of NASI students’ and staff development.
Etim congratulated Olatoye for his appointment as the General Officer Commanding 82 Division and Force Commander Joint Task Force, Operation Udoka.
He thanked him for his impressive service to improve the training standard in the Nigerian Army.
Etim also wished the outgone commandant greater accomplishments in his new appointment.(NAN)
