EUROPEAN Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel on Thursday greeted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as he arrived in Brussels.

“Welcome home, welcome to the EU,’’ Michel wrote on Twitter, along with a picture showing him shaking hands with Zelensky in front of an aeroplane, next to von der Leyen and French President Emmanuel Macron.

“Welcome to Brussels,’’ von der Leyen posted on Twitter.

“We will support Ukraine every step of the way towards our Union,’’ she added.

Zelensky is set to give a speech at the European Parliament and attend a summit with the EU’s 27 leaders as a guest. (NAN)
