THE Ex-Rangers International Footballers Association has congratulated the club for picking the ticket for the `Super-Six’ play-off of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) billed to take place in Lagos.

The Secretary of the association, Edmond Ndukamma, gave the commendation in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Wednesday.

The association, which is an umbrella body for former players of the club, issued the statement at the end of its monthly meeting held on May 28 in Enugu.

Ndukamma said that the association also urged the Olugbenga Ogunbote-tutored side to put in extra efforts to enable it be crowned league champions for the eighth time.

He noted that the association was very proud of the exploits of the current squad in both continental and domestic encounters.

NdukaMma, however, noted that more effort was needed for Rangers to become the ultimate champion of the 2018/2019 NPFL League Season.

“We are urging them to guide their lions very well in the play-off and conquer other teams to become league champions again,’’ he said.

“We wish to specially appreciate Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for all he has been doing for the club and the retired players.

“We resolved to identify with the government of Anambra State led by Gov. Willy Obiano, who has always been there for us.

“We seek for more partnership just as we commend the hard-working Rangers’ General Manager, Prince Davidson Owumi, who had shown that he knew what he came to do in Rangers,’’ Ndukamma said.

He thanked the Enugu State Government, Femi Otedola and other well-meaning individuals and bodies for taking action in rescuing the association’s Immediate Past Chairman and former Super Eagles Gaffer, Christian Chukwu, in his health challenges. (NAN)
