EXPERTS in Human Resources Management have applauded Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the wife of the Ondo State governor, on her foresight and uncommon commitment towards developing strategies and plans geared towards changing lives and communities in Ondo State.
The commendation came barely three days into the five-day strategy development and planning workshop organised by Ondo State first lady under the auspices of Betty – Anyanwu Akeredulo Foundation, BAAF, and Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria, BRECAN, holding at Ondo state Governor’s Lodge Abuja.
The workshop which seeks to develop programs and interventions in the areas of maternal and Child Health protection, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, WASH, Health promoting Schools, Emerging Green Digital Communities and Gender mainstreaming and women Initiative programme, is facilitated by Trex Corp Resources Limited.
In chat with Rowland Onyeukwu, the media aide to the wife of Ondo State governor, Rachel Adegbe, a human resource personnel and director of operations of Management Alternatives Limited, said Anyanwu-Akeredolu deserved commendation adding that lives and communities in Ondo State were in for remarkable transformation.
In her words “it has been a wow moment and I’m impressed that her Excellency could sacrifice time and sit throughout the sessions which is rarely seen. It shows her passion and commitment towards the work, I commend her for that and I see Ondo State becoming better and topping the chart amongst her contemporaries.”
She advised Ondo people to be open minded for the change program and embrace it in the best interest of the state.
Another human resource expert, a managing partner of Management Alternatives and one time country director of world bank, Akubo Adegbe, who facilitated some of the sessions during the workshop, in his responds gave the first lady a pat on the back for what he described as uncommon commitment which she demonstrated by creating time to organise and participate in a weeklong strategy development workshop to transform Ondo State.
“I believe that with a five-year strategy, things will really be clear and Ondo State will have better people who are better equipped to effect change in their communities and communities changing will improve the economic environment of Ondo State which will in turn improve GDP.”
Paul Akinbode, one of the participants at the workshop from Akure South LGA of Ondo State, who also spoke to the media aide, described the workshop as an invaluable investment for the future of Ondo State. Akinbode further described Ondo State as a very lucky state because according to him not all states have access to interventions of that magnitude. He advised Ondo people to be receptive to the interventions coming their way soon.
In his own assessment Ayeni Adedamola Oseyemi, another participant, a personnel with BAAF who hails from Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State, said the council had been equipped with right strategy and plan as an organisation and predicted that Ondo State would soon attain some of the sustainable development goals.
In his vote of thanks at the end of the first phase of the workshop, Tonte Abraye, the managing partner of Trex Corp Resources limited, commented that Anyanwu-Akeredolu’s commitment towards changing lives and communities was second to none judging by his experience in his career journey and called on other leaders to emulate her.
