Ezira Bridge will be completed in a month’s time – Commissioner

Marcel Ifejiofor, the commissioner for Works Anambra State, has assured that Ezira Bridge project will be completed over the next one month.
Ifejiofor gave the assurance when he witnessed the launch of beams over the 1span 20m Ezira Bridge as well as inspected the ongoing Construction of Ezira -Umuomaku – Enugu Umuonyia – Achina road project.
He said that the road was one of the priority projects of Gov. Willie Obiano administration.
“The governor will be delighted to see that the bridge will be completed in the next one month, so that the people of Umuomaku, Enugu Umuonyia and the rest can assess the bridge.’’
Ifejiofor commended the quality of work on the bridge by the contractor Arab Contractors Ltd., saying that their asphalting and drainage works were wonderful and the quality of the bridge perfect.
He enjoined the people of Umuomaku to be patient as the approaches to the bridge would be done as soon as the bridge would have been completed.
Ahmed Saheed, the project manager, Arab Contractors Ltd., said the bridge would soon be ready for road users as they were doing the final erection of the precast beams.
“We have achieved about 1.5km asphalting and ready to do more as soon as the bridge is completed by the end of the month.’’
E O Nnamezie, a community leader and former president-general of Ezira Town Union, commended the state government for initiating the project, saying that Ezira and all the benefiting communities would forever remain grateful.
He, then, commended the construction company for their good work.
