THE Kwara Government has trained experts and agents recruited to provide extension and advisory services to the beneficiaries of FADAMA NG-CARES programme.

The training, tagged “Orientation for Extension and Advisory Service Providers”, was an essential part of the implementation procedure for disbursement, expected to aid and perfect the second phase of Fadama NG-Cares disbursement in the state.

Speaking during the training session in Ilorin, the Project Coordinator, Dr Isiaka Busari, said recruitment and orientation of the extension agents and advisory experts is an integral process for effective delivery to the beneficiaries.

According to the coordinator, the job of the experts begins at the point of delivery, including certifying agricultural assets and provide advisory services to the beneficiaries, while extension agents are to certify the agricultural inputs supplied and give technical services to the recipients.

Busari explained that the project needs committed and disciplined officers, who are ready to work assiduously in conformity with the present administration’s resolve to sweep poverty and hunger from the society.

He added that the positive impact of the Fadama NG-Cares programme is already being felt by the masses.

The coordinator, who explained why the Fadama programme must be flawlessly delivered, expressed optimism that the concerned people would continue to commend Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the laudable programme.

Busari, however, tasked the service providers on quality service delivery, which would help to meet up with the objectives of the Fadama NG-Cares programme.

The technical session took the service providers through presentations ranging from “Scope of Operation/Schedule of Payment”, Guidelines for Advisory Services Delivery” to “Procurement Procedure”, delivered by eminent resource persons.  (NAN)
