THE FCT Secondary Education Board (SEB) says it will rejuvenate the board and ensure schools in the FCT are up to standard.
Mr Sunny Monieedafe, a Board Member of the FCT SEB, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja, said the country’s education system needed review.
“The vision of FCT Secondary Schools Board is to get the system working again; truly what we saw on ground on assumption is nothing to write home about.
“Our schools are in a bad shape.
“The Chairman, Alhaji Musa Yahaya Muhammad, and the team of two board members have come up with plans to re-invigorate that board.
“We have an agenda that we want to bring out but we do not want to elaborate on that until it becomes a policy.
“One of the things we want to do is get the staff to be involved in the day-to-day running of the place, to feel that they belong and then to get them to carry our vision along.
“By the time they start identifying with the board, they will be able to help us actualise our vision for the place
“The bottom line is we want the schools system to be re-invigorated, not only in Abuja but across Nigeria.’’
Moniedafe said that change must begin with each and everyone in order to see significant impact in the education sector.
According to him, education is the most important tool to change the world. (NAN)
