Federation proposes hosting rights of Aketi Bowl 2024 to Oyo govt.

THE president of Nigeria American Football Association of (NAFA), Babajide Akeredolu, on Wednesday said the association had forwarded a proposal to the Oyo State government to host AKETI BOWL 2.0 2024.
The Media Coordinator of NAFA, Lawrence Onoja, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.
Akeredolu said he personally approached the Governor of Oyo State, Mr. Seyi Makinde, and had presented the hosting proposal for the hosting of the 2024 edition of the annual championship.
According to Akeredolu, the strategic meeting underscores the importance of NAFA’s proposal, which aims to further elevate American football’s prominence and development in Nigeria.
He further stated that the presentation of this proposal served as a testament to the association’s commitment and vision for advancing the sport on a national scale.
“It is worth noting that the inaugural edition of this prestigious tournament, known as AKETI BOWL, took place in Ondo State in 2023 and featured the spirited participation of 75 secondary schools.
“The schools are from seven distinct states across the Nigerian federation and the tournament has emerged as a beacon of growth for American football,”Akeredolu said. (NAN)
