FEYSOC coordinator promises colourful football tourney in Enugu

UCHE Lofty, the Coordinator, Federation of Youths Soccer Club of Nigeria (FEYSOC) in Enugu, has promised to make the 2019 football tournament colourful and entertaining for the teams coming.
Lofty, who made the assertion while speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Enugu,noted that they were making arrangement for a successful event.
NAN reports that the competition is for U-13, U-15 and U-18 and it will start on Aug. 12 and end on Aug. 18.
“’ This year, we are preparing good pitches, accommodation, security and other things that will make the competition colourful.
“We are going to make use of a good pitch like the Rangers temporary pitch and other good natural grass fields.
“All these things are upgrade of what we used to have in the previous editions and we are expecting 25 teams in each categories this time around.
“Beside, two teams from outside the country has indicated interest and the teams are from Cameron and Kenya,” he said.
He said that teams from Abuja, Kano, Nasarawa and teams from South-South were also interested and are coming.
“Teams from South-East have started arriving and teams from Imo and Abia states had arrived in Enugu,” Lofty said.
The coordinator noted that the arrival date for all teams are on Saturday and Sunday as the competition kicks off on Aug. 12.
The competition’s sponsor, Samuel Omamofe, said that he was bankrolling some of the expenses with the hope of getting talented players.
Omamofe, who is the executive officer of Dino Sports Club of Abeokuta, said that he would be joining the competition half way and would leave before the end of the competition.
“I am looking forward to meeting a football tournament and spot players that can make positive difference in my club.
“It will please me if the competition provides me with players that will be able to compete with the ones we have already because Dino Sports Club wants the best,” Omamofe said.
NAN reports that Riverlane FC of Enugu won the U-18, New Generation FC from Abia won U-13, while Emmydon FC from Imo won the U-15 category.
