FIDELITY Bank Plc has donated N5 million to Kebbi State as a support to the fight against coronavirus. The bank said the donation was part of its corporate social responsibility.

While making the donation on Wednesday, May 20, the bank said the sum would go a long way in providing palliatives to vulnerable persons. The cheque was presented to Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, Chief of Staff Government House, by Salihu Jibrin, regional manager of the bank, at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

Jibrin assured the state government that the bank would be an active partner in the fight against the virus by providing more possible assistance. “Although the donation of N5 million by the bank could be described as a token, it would aid ongoing efforts by the state government in containing the Covid-19 scourge,” he stated.

On his part, Argungu thanked Fidelity Bank for the invaluable gesture, on behalf of Governor Atiku Bagudu and Kebbi state government. He said all donations received from various sources had been handed over to the state taskforce on Covid-19.

He commended Jafar Muhammed, chairman of the taskforce, who is the Commissioner for Health, and his team for their efforts in curbing the spread of the virus.
