Determined to strengthen the Federal Government financial inclusion initiative, Fidelity Bank Plc on Monday launched Get Alert in Millions (GAIM) Savings promo season three.
The Managing Director of the bank, Mr Nnamdi Okonkwo, made the disclosure at the news conference in Lagos, saying that N110 million would be given to eligible customers in the savings promo.
Okonkwo said that the bank, for 11 years, had empowered its customers and support financial inclusion initiatives through various savings promotions.
He said that the promotion was introduced to empower customers and boost savings culture among Nigerians.
Okonkwo said that the bank had rolled out three promos in the past 11 years, noting that customer interest was paramount in its operations.
He said that the bank gave out cash prizes worth N110 million from September 2017 to April.
The managing director added that the bank gave out N105 million from August 2016 to 2017.
Okonkwo said that the bank would continue to embrace initiative and programmes that would benefit its various customers, noting that customers were key.
“Those who don’t know the importance of customers should ask businesses that have gone down.
“The moment you do not have anybody to patronise your service, you are gone.
“Therefore, we don’t take it for granted,” he said.
Okonkwo, however, lauded the customers of the bank for growth witnessed by the bank in the past years.
He said that the bank had recorded significant milestone in digital service, adding that about 80 per cent of transactions were done through digital channels.
“Our mobile subscription has hit about 1.6 million, a lot more customers are doing their banking subscription through mobile phones.”
Mrs Chijioke Ugochukwu, Promo Chairperson, said that the bank gave out three houses; one each in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt in 2015 to various customers.
Ugochukwu said that the savings promo allowed the bank to go into nooks and crannies of the country to enlighten people on financial inclusion.
She said that there would be star prize of N10 million under season three promo as well as weekly recharge cards of about N10 million. (NAN)
